Youth Group Members, Pat, Laura, Mike & Trish portray blindness in several ways during the skit performed for the parish. Some were blind since birth, and physically could not see. Some are blind as to who Jesus IS! And continue in their blindness even when those who found sight in and through the healing from Jesus, failed to share Jesus with others! Deacon Bill started his sermon, but was surprised as Pat, portraying a former blind beggar barges in shouting, waving his hands and running down the center aisle. (Click on the thumbnail picture for a larger version.)

"HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! I CAN SEE! I CAN SEE! It's a miracle! Praise God... Hallelujah!" (Pat runs down the aisle shouting and jumping for joy, and when he gets in front of everyone he loudy and excitedly says;) "YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME! I was healed! There I was, standing at the temple gate, blind and begging for money.... you know, they don't give like they used to?!" (pause for laughs). "Well anyway, I was standing there at the temple gate...blind as a bat! And this guy walked up to me...they called him JESUS." (click on thumbnail picture for larger version.)

"Jesus touched me, just once, right between the eyes with his finger." (points with his finger between the eyes) "Right HERE!...ONE time!..and I was healed! Everything was SOOOO clear! It was a miracle! I could see, I could see!! It was sooooo neat! Praise God!" (click on thumbnail picture for a larger version.)

(Laura jumps up from her seat and runs down the aisle jumping for joy and yelling loudly) "HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!! IT'S A MIRACLE, I CAN SEE, I CAN SEE! PRAISE GOD!" (When she gets to Pat, in front of everyone she says excitedly) "You'll NEVER guess what happened to ME! I can see! I can see! There I was, blind and begging for money at the Temple gates ... you know they don't give like they used to?!" (pause for laugh, looking and nodding at Pat) ..."Well anyway, there I was...I couldn't see...blind since birth, and I was standing there and this guy walks up to me...they say his name is JESUS! (Pat, listening to her is surprised and excited when he hears Jesus' name mentioned) Pat says, "Jesus?? Do YOU know Jesus? I know Jesus!!" Laura says, "Yes!! YESSSS, I know Jesus!! Do YOU know Jesus too??" (Pat and Laura join hands and excitedly jump for joy in circles together yelling loudly) "We know Jesus! We know Jesus! We know Jesus!" After they stop Laura says, "Well Jesus healed ME! He touched me with his finger right HERE (points between her eyes).."Right between the eyes, Jesus touched me...TWICE!!" (Pat looks surprised and stunned and says)"TWICE??!" Laura says, "Yes, TWICE, right HERE (points between her eyes)..The FIRST time he touched me I could see, but it was only shadows, they looked all hazy to me....but then Jesus touched me again, a SECOND time...and I could SEE! It was a MIRACLE! I could see everything SO CLEARLY! Praise God! It's a miracle!" Pat says, "Wait a minute! Jesus touched you TWICE?? He only touches you ONCE!!" Laura argues back, "No, He touches you TWICE! Right HERE!" (points between her eyes). (Pat and Laura argue back and forth over how many times Jesus touched them.) Mike jumps up out of his seat, runs down the aisle yelling excitedly, jumping for joy. When he reaches Laura and Pat he exclaims, "HALLELUJAH! PRAISE GOD! IT'S A MIRACLE! I CAN SEE! I CAN SEE! You'll NEVER guess what happened to ME! I was blind...." (Pat interrupts Mike saying,) "WAIT! Don't tell me... you were standing in front of the Temple gates begging for money, right??" Mike says, puzzled, "Yeah! How'd you know? ... You know, they don't give like they used to?!" (Laura and Pat nod at Mike knowingly) (pause for laughs). Mike continues, "Anyway, there I was, begging at the Temple gate and this guy named Jesus came up to me...." Pat says to Mike, "Jesus? Do YOU know Jesus? I know Jesus too!!" Mike says, "Yes, I know Jesus!" Laura says, "Hey! I know Jesus too!", Mike says, "You do? This is TOOO cool!" (click on thumbnail for larger picture.)

Pat says to Mike, "Jesus? Do YOU know Jesus? I know Jesus too!!" Mike says, "Yes, I know Jesus!" Laura says, "Hey! I know Jesus too!", Mike says, "You do? This is TOOO cool!" (Pat, Laura & Mike join hands and jump around in a circle joyfully yelling,) "WE KNOW JESUS! WE KNOW JESUS! WE KNOW JESUS!" (Click on thumbnail picture for larger version.)

Pat, Laura and Mike celebrate that they know Jesus by doing the wave excitedly. Mike exclaims, "I've always wanted to do the WAVE, I always missed it before when they did it!" Then Mike says, "Anyway, there I was, blind as a bat...when suddenly I heard this...(makes a loud spitting noise so everyone can hear it)...Jesus had spit on the ground and I could hear him stirring up something in the dirt. Before I knew what was happening, Jesus put his hands to my eyes and covered them with mud! When He wiped away the mud... it was a miracle!! I could see! I could see! Praise God!! Pat turns to Mike and says, "WAIT A MINUTE!! Jesus doesn't use SPIT or MUD?!" Laura chimes in, "Yeah! That's gross!! Why would he do THAT?" Mike says, "Yes he DOES!" Pat says, "No He doesn't! He touches you ONCE, between the eyes!" (points between the eyes). Laura looks at Pat disgustedly, "No, Jesus touches you TWICE! Between the eyes!" Mike argues, "NO, He uses spit and MUD!" Pat says, "Wait! What hand did Jesus use to heal you?" Laura says, "It was His right hand, yeah, His right hand!" Pat counters, "No, it was His LEFT hand!! Jesus healed me with His left hand and he touched me right HERE!" (points between his eyes). As all three argue, Trisha comes up to them, they are in a circle arguing and not paying attention to Trisha. Trisha yells, "Hey? You guys? What are you arguing about? Jesus?, WHO is Jesus? What are you talking about? Hey?...Hey?...HEY???!!" They turn to Trisha and yell angrily, "WHAT do you WANT?!" (Click on thumbnail for larger picture.)

Pat, Laura and Mike walk away still arguing over how Jesus has healed them, not sharing WHO Jesus is or what Jesus has done for them, with Trisha. Trisha looks at them wistfully as they leave. (Click on thumbnail picture for a larger version.)

Trisha, dejected and sad, says, "I wish someone would tell ME what they're all talking about? Who IS this Jesus? I wish someone would tell me about Jesus!?"
